四门跑房车是传统双门跑房车/轿跑车（Coupé）概念的延伸与突破，它把常规三厢轿车与传统轿跑车的基因进行扬弃、交叉与"混血"，从而兼顾了跑车的运动性与房车的宽敞舒适性，既消弭了常规三厢轿车个性的平淡乏味，又改善传统轿跑车（后排）乘座空间的局促及出入不便。4-door Coupé作为广汽集团为迎合年轻家庭和新生代白领阶层生活需求及情趣所做努力的一个例证，其概念也部分反映了广汽汽研院对汽车底盘平台、车身造型、构形及配置等技术的探讨，是广汽自主品牌轿车造型、构型的一个可能发展方向。
